Organization of EDST

EDST is headed by a dean assisted by a management council and a scientific council.

The Management Council

  1. Mrs. Eva HAMADE, Director of the Research and Analysis Platform in Environmental Sciences.
  2. Roland HABCHI, Director of the Nanotechnology Research Platform.
  3. Mohamad KHALIL, Director of the Azm Center for Biotechnology Research.

The Scientific Council

The Scientific Council is composed of 10 members, who are: – the three members of the Management Council. – 7 teacher-researchers representing the faculties served by EDST:

  • Mr. Nabil HADDAD, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health.
  • Mrs. Véronique KAZPARD, Professor, Faculty of Sciences – Director of the Directorate of International Relations.
  • Mrs. Lamis CHALAK, Professor, Faculty of Agronomy.
  • Mr. Ziad SALAMEH, Professor, Faculty of Dental Medicine – Director of the Center of Excellence in 3D Printing.
  • Mr. Haidar AKL, Professor, Faculty of Sciences – Coordinator of the “Master’s Program in Immunology”.
  • Mr. Abed Ellatif SAMHAT, Professor, Faculty of Engineering – Director of the Scientific Research Center in Engineering.
  • Mr. Adnan NAJA, Professor, Faculty of Sciences.

Role of the Council

  • Develop scientific research programs and plans at EDST.
  • Review the files of new doctoral candidates.
  • Monitor the progress of doctoral candidates’ research work.
  • Annual organization of the Doctoral Forum.
  • Review thesis defense files.
  • Carry out an annual evaluation of EDST’s activities.
