The mission of the EDST includes the following points:

  • To promote a culture of rigorous scientific practices Based on innovation, development, quality assurance, research ethics, scientific integrity, and respect for intellectual property in the production, transmission, and evaluation of knowledge. These practices cover three main areas: engineering sciences, health sciences, and environmental and agri-food sciences.
 
  • Acquire research expertise in advanced scientific and technical fields and to develop skills in managing scientific research to meet the needs of higher education institutions and public and private scientific research centers, as well as the production and service sectors of Lebanese society.
 
  • Strengthen the ties between the academic world and that of scientific research. by engaging PhD candidates in research projects, organizing conferences, workshops, and scientific training.
 
  • Contribute to national development through the transfer of advanced technologies, as well as through the development of studies, plans, and the proposal of solutions in the areas of expertise of the EDST.
