Since its creation in 2007, as an independent university training unit, the Doctoral School of Science and Technology (EDST) serves nine faculties of the Lebanese University:

engineering, health, pharmacy, sciences, technology, medicine, dental medicine, architecture, and agronomy

It is based on the activities of a center and two research platforms:

• Azm Center for Biotechnology Research - Tripoli.
• Research and Analytical Platform in Environmental Sciences - Hadath.
• Research Platform in Nanotechnology – Fanar.

The priority of the EDST has always been to train Lebanese doctoral students in science and technology, and to prepare their professional integration. It ensures the rigorous selection of doctoral students, the quality of their supervision, and their international exposure.
